As part of the Operational mandate of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK ), which is working together in a joint environment towards restoring peace and security in the NorthEast, the Chief of Administration Navy, Rear Admiral BJ Gbassa had on Tuesday 20 December 2022 paid an operational visit to frontline troops of OPHK on behalf of the Chief of The Naval Staff.
On arrival, Admiral Gbassa was received at Headquarters Theatre Command by the Theatre Commander, Major General CG Musa where he stated that his visit to the North East was to assess the ongoing operations as it affects the Maritime Components to observe and recommend areas requiring additional support to the Theatre’. He further added the visit was to interact with the troops to boost their morale and to appreciate and commend the Theatre for the successes so far achieved.

In his remarks, Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa on behalf of his Officers and Men welcomed Admiral Gbassa and Members of his entourage to Headquarters Theatre Command and appreciated the Chief of Naval Staff for his purposeful leadership and support to the Theatre.
Thereafter, General Gwabin Musa mentioned that due to the strategic importance of the Lake Chad region, the presence of the Nigerian Navy is of great importance and revealed that the Theatre command in partnership with the State government, para-military agencies, hybrid forces and other critical stakeholders in OPHK is committed in ending the war against insurgency in the North East.
Additionally, the Theatre Commander further appreciated the contribution of the Special Boat Service( SBS ) for their professionalism during operations and as instructors during the In-Theatre-Training of inducted troops.
The highlight of the visit was the inspection of quarter guard, Signing of Visitor’s book, presentation of souvenirs and group photographs.
