One dies, five injured at auto crash on 3rd mainland bridge

 

 

An auto crash on the third mainland bridge, Lagos has claimed one life and injured five others.

 

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, the accident involved  a J5 Ford bus with registration number FKJ 724 YC and a Mercedes truck with number, FKJ 746 YC, and occured on Monday morning at Ilubirin, inward Sura.

 

While four victims were rescued from the wreckage alive, one person inside the J5 bus was removed dead

 

The J5 bus was reportedly carrying pepper and other goods when it had a collision with the truck.

 

Findings by LASTMA officials at the scene revealed that the accident was caused by the J5 bus which was on high speed but had brake failure resulting in collision with the truck.

 

Response teams from the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASEMA, the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC,  the Nigerian Police Force, and LASAMBUS, were at the scene while tje injured were taken to the General Hospital on Lagos Island for medical attention.
