Ondo gov, dep. to spend N270m on phone calls, local travels in 2019

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, and his deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi will, in 2019, spend a total sum of N270 million on telephone calls as well as on local travels and transport.

This was contained in the breakdown of the 2019 budget passed by the Ondo State House of Assembly.

In the budget, it was also revealed that the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyeloogun and his deputy, Hon. Iroju Ogundeji, will also get N96.5 million as telephone charges and local travels.

According to the breakdown of the 2019 budget obtained from the state budget office, the sum of N13 million was budgeted as telephone charges for the governor’s office, while the deputy governor will spend N5 million.

In the 2018 budget, the same figure was spent on telephone calls in the office of the governor, same as that of the Deputy Governor.

The budget also revealed that the Governor will spend the sum of N107 million on local travels and transport against the sum of N158 million budgeted for in 2018 while that of his deputy still stands at N145 million just as it was in 2018.

Also in the budget, the sum of N1 million was earmarked for telephone calls of the Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, while his deputy gets N2 million.

As regards the fund for local travels and transport, the speaker will get N50 million and the sum of N43 million goes to the office of his Deputy.

Governor Akeredolu had, in February, signed into law the 2019 Appropriation Bill with a sum of N193 billion following the passage of the bill in law by the state’s House of Assembly, which had increased the budget by N3 billion.
