Old Picture of Sam Omatseye calling Goodluck Jonathan a goat surfaces

The picture of the Editorial Board Chairman of The Nation newspaper, Sam Omatseye depicting ex-president Goodluck Jonathan as a goat has been making the rounds on social media.

The picture, which was taken at the Freedom Park in Ojota during the 2012 petrol subsidy protest shows Omatseye hanging a placard on the neck of a goat with the inscription, “My Name is Jonathan.”

The picture was regurgitated following his caustic article against the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi which he titled Obi-tuary, which many say is a death wish on Obi over his presidential ambition.

The 61-year-old has been under fire since Monday when he published the article at the back page of the newspaper owned by the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Omatseye had locked the comment sections of both his Facebook and Twitter accounts before publishing the highly vilified opinion but was not spared by social media users who lashed out at the journalist for his unethical practice.

The grandfather of one cried out to Peter Obi to call his supporters to order, saying there is a threat to his life, an assertion that earned him more knocks.
