Former Super Eagles Captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, was the cynosure of all eyes at the recently held Bundesliga Legend Tour Fan Fest which took place at the popular Fun Factory, Admiralty, Way Lekki, Lagos when he held fans spell bound with his football skills.
Organized by leading Digital Terrestrial Television Network, StarTimes, Jay Jay was his old self as he led ‘ Team Bundesliga’ against ‘ Team Media’, in a novelty five a- side match watched by a capacity crowd.
He not only inspired his team to a 4-0 white wash of their opponent but his dribbling skills, creativity, ball control and accurate passes, was well appreciated by the crowd which included celebrities, top management staff of StarTimes, Germany Embassy Staff, customers and football academies drawn from different parts of Lagos State.
Speaking after the highly entertaining match, Okocha expressed gratitude to the organisers for putting together such an event which he believes will encourage skillful Nigerian youths to take their game serious as well as aim to be like some of the best players in the German Bundesliga.

“I’ m highly delighted to be here to be part of this epoch making event. Having played in the German Bundesliga, I believe it is right to showcase my talent to aspiring youths who dream of playing in that league in future.
Organisers of the event explained that it was put together to make Nigerians have a feel of the Bundesliga which the company has the sole right to telecast to Nigerian viewers as well as fete their clients who have identified with their quality service.
The company while promising to continue to improve on their services to serve Nigerians better, noted that customers have a lot to gain patronizing StarTimes with its many channels that deals with news, sports, entertainment, drama, Nollywood, carton, local and foreign films among others.
The event which was spiced with entertainment and many side attractions also saw ‘Team German Embassy’ play a novelty match with ‘Team StarTime’, while there was also matches involving some football academies such as; Ghetto Life FC 1 and 11, Ablaze FC, Lekki Junior Strikers, Lekki Football Academy and Little Tigers amongst others.
Fans also had the opportunity of watching live telecast of Bundesliga matches involving Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke 04 as well as VFB Stuttgart and Borrusia Migladbach.
