In line with the mantra of the present administration’s ‘Building our Future Together’, the State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo has assured the people of government’s readiness to adopt Public Private Partnership (PPP) strategy to boost the State’s economy.
Okubadejo, who is also the Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, gave the assurance during a 2-Day retreat on Executive Council Strategy Session held at Ogere, Ikenne Local Government Area of the state.
He said the Public and Private organizations have to work harmoniously in building the future of the State, noting that feedbacks from the public would receive government attention, while private organisations would also be part of programmes implementation and execution.

“The vision of the Governor is to have a focused and qualitative governance, while creating good environment for business to thrive. I want to assure you that we will encourage local and international private organizations. In achieving this, our strategies will focus on qualitative governance, creating good and enabling environment, as well as encourage Public Private Partnership for economy development and individual prosperity’’, he assured.
Okubadejo reiterated the need for all stakeholders to partner government in moving the State forward by prompt payment of their taxes, levies and dues into government purse, assuring that in the next four years, there would be macro-economic stability, more employment generation, increased in the state internally generated revenue and improvement in all sphere of the state.
He said to achieve the present administration’s ambition of a focused and qualitative governance, thematic areas have been identified, which included; Infrastructural Development, Social Welfare and wellbeing, Environment, Education and Human Capital, Youth Empowerment, Agriculture and Food Security, stressing that adequate financing, Security, enabling environment and Digital Transformation were essential for successful implementation of all these.
In his contribution, the Guest Speaker, who is a retired Federal Permanent Secretary, Prof. Tunji Olaopa, advised the state government to prioritize its policies and programmes to be embarked upon into group of coherent, while hoping that the crop of politicians, technocrats and Civil Servants would help in the actualisation of the present administration’s drive in taking the State to greater height.
