Obanikoro moves to replace Olamilekan Adeola in Senate as posters flood Lagos

A former Minister of State for Defence, Sen. Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro, may be considering returning to the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

It is now observed that his campaign posters for the Senate to represent Lagos West Senatorial District in the Red Chamber has surfaced in parts of the senatorial district.

Recall that Sen. Obanikoro was persuaded to step down for the incumbent, Sen. Olamilekan Adeola in 2019 by the party leadership.

As at the time of writing this report, he remains the only aspirant that has publicly indicated his intention to run.

It was gathered that the former Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana has officially informed the National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, of his intention.

Obanikoro’s campaign posters were observed in areas like Badagry, Alimoso, Ojo, Amuwo Odofin and Ajeromi-Ifelodun local governments, among others.
