The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, at its Special Delegates Conference in Kano on Thursday kicked out workers of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, from its membership roll.

The NUJ took the decision during the constitution review at the special delegate session presided over by the union’s National President, Chris Isiguzo.

The delegates agreed that NOA employees would not be accorded the same rights as NUJ members anymore.

Also affected by the ban on NUJ membership were members of staff of Ministries of Information, who are non-practising journalists.

The special delegate session also resolved that local government public relations officers would cease to enjoy membership status of the journalists body.
