The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, has told people of the state not to panic over the presence of herdsmen or alimajiris hiding in the forest in the state, as there is nothing like that.
Speaking with newsmen at Government House after after inspecting ongoing road construction works yesterday, the governor assured that his administration was on top of the security situation in the state.

He blamed the opposition for the rumours that herdsmen and almajirs were lurking in the forest and bidding their time to attack Imo people.
Uzodinma said: “There is no truth in the story that herdsmen and alimajiris are lurking in the forest waiting for a time to attack Imo people. It is a wicked rumour mastermind by the opposition. Imo people should go about there normal business as there is no cause for alarm. The government is on top of the security situation in the state.“
