NNPP chieftain raises alarm over alleged move by Kwankwaso to hijack party, impose new logo, constitution
A Chieftain of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ondo state and Ondo Central Senatorial Candidate in the 2023 election, Dr. ‘Seun Majasan has rejected the new logo of the party describing it as misnomer and can never be accepted
Majasan who made this known while speaking with newsmen via a telephonic interview in Akure, the state capital bluntly rejected “Kwankwaso’s new logo idea” for NNPP, saying It cannot stand.
It would be recalled that changing of the party logo has to do with the lingering crisis rocking the leadership of the New Nigeria Peoples Party as a faction of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso is trying to amend the party’s constitution and logo.
Majasan went on: “This is an overnight move which cannot stand. I and my people rejected Kwankwaso’s move to change the NNPP party logo with a plot to hijack the party.
“It’s quite unfortunate if anyone could think this new logo idea is better than the one we have been using. The question is that, is NNPP now for the “red cap chiefs” as they fondly call us here? This new logo looks more or less academic not party-like and the colour is totally awkward and absorb.
“I think Kwankwaso should just leave New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) alone and turn his own Kwankwasiyya movement to Political Party and stop disturbing the peace of this party because this his new logo idea can never be accepted by me and my people otherwise I am out of this nonsense.
“Did he consult all party stakeholders across the 36 States and did they give approval before he made such silly move? I don’t understand.
“As far as I am concerned Dr. Boniface Anibonam is the founder and life leader of NNPP, so Kwankwaso cannot just come in now to destabilize the party and hijack it to himself. Who does that?”
Majasan however celebrated with all Muslims in the country in the Holy period of Ramadan saying that the period of Ramadan teaches us self control, self restraint, tolerance for one another irrespective of religion or tribe. It is also a month for extreme prayers, love and generosity.
“While using this period to share love, forgive and reflect spiritually I implore us all to pray for the continued peace and prosperity of our dear country,” he added
