It was a goalden start in the NNL play off on Monday at the Sanni Abacha Stadium, Kano.

Sokoto United and FWC Champions of Abuja started it all in a five goal thriller which the boys from the Caliphate won by 3-2 to keep alive their hopes of remaining in the NNL.

Highly rated Edel FC of Awka crumbled like a pack of cards losing 0-4 to Hensards of Yenagoa. Coach Godwin Anosike of Edel blamed the poor start on the fact that he is parading a depleted squad.
