Nigerian troops repel Boko Haram insurgents in Yobe, kill 13

Nigerian troops, on Monday, repelled Boko Haram terrorists at Geidam town of Yobe State.

Residents were reportedly happy when Boko Haram insurgents, who tried to attack their village, were resisted by the troops.

It was gathered that the terrorists attempted to attack Geidam at about 11:30a.m, on Monday, but troops of 159 Battalion in Sector 2, in conjunction with the Air Task Force on Operation LAFIYA DOLE engaged the insurgents in a gun duel.

It was also gathered that about 13 of the terrorists were neutralised  during the gun duel, while two gun trucks with Dushkha guns and six AK47 rifles were recovered from the terrorists.

It was said that there was no casualty on the side of the Nigerian troops.
