Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25 elections, Mr. Peter Obi, has officially filed a petition to the election Tribunal challenging the process that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) used to declare the All Progressive Congress (APC)’s Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the winner of the Presidential election.
Spokesman of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign of the Labour Party, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, announced the submission of the petition on Twitter in the early hours of Tuesday.
Tanko wrote, “It is official the Labor Party Presidential candidate Peter OBI has filed his petition to the presidential elections tribunal in Abuja. The process of reclaiming the people’s mandate has started.”
The former Anambra State governor, who came third in the election after Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), faulted the process and vowed to challenge the outcome of the election.
