Governor ‘Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Saturday morning, cast his vote at Ward 11, Unit 01, Abayomi Iwo-Road in Ibadan North East Local Council.
Governor Makinde, the gubernatorial candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), arrived at his Polling Unit at about 10.30a.m.
Governor Makinde, who is seeking a second-term, had earlier been verified and accredited with the BVAS machine.
Speaking briefly with journalists, the governor appreciated the people of Oyo State for coming out, asking others to also troop out en masse to exercise their civic rights.
He also described the voting process as peaceful, commending the security agencies for doing a good job.
Similarly, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Sen. Teslim Folarin, arrived his Polling unit at about 10: 40 a.m.
Folarin cast his vote at Unit 2, Ward 5, Idi-Ose, Ona-Ara LGA, immediately after his accreditation by INEC officials.
Sen. Folarin, who after voting at his Polling unit, expressed satisfaction in the voting process.
Speaking after casting his ballot, Folarin equally called on residents to come out and vote.
