#NIGERIA DECIDES2023: Abaribe shoves Ikpeazu aside, returns to Senate

The senator, representing Abia-South Senatorial District, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, has retained his seat in the upper legislative House after trashing Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Prof. Georgina Ugwuanyi, the Returning Officer for the election, declared Abaribe, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) winner, having polled the highest number of votes 49,693.

Governor Ikpeazu came a distant third, scoring 28,422 votes behind the second placed Labour Party’s Chinedu Onyeizu, who got 43,903 votes.
