The first casualty of electoral malpractice in Lagos STate was recorded at about 8.10a.m, at Ilamose Estate, Oke-Afa, Isolo, when some criminals riding in a minibus marked ‘NIGERIA STUDENTS UNION’ came to disrupt voting and chased away over 60 voters that had gathered to vote.
Men of the Nigeria Police reportedly chased after them from the Jakande Estate Gate area to a roadblock on a nearby street as the suspects drove away in an attempt to escape being arrested.
Some of the criminals jumped off as the police van closed in on them.
When their bus did a detour, the policemen shot at the bus as it zoomed past them, with the passenger door falling off. They gave them a hot chase and eventually two of the suspects were caught and bundled them in the booth of the bus while they were handcuffed.
