An NGO, An all-women Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the Women for Change Initiatives (WCI), has commended the Federal Government under the able leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari on his resolve to develop the country’s infrastructure with is globally believed to be the accelerator for the rapid growth of any nation’
Barrister Eyitope Success-Adekunle, the Convener of the NGO in a chat with our reporter Sunday in Lagos was reacting to the news report that the Federal Government was about to commence the sale of 5,000 Housing Units in 34 States of the federation, saying, “it is now confirmed more than ever before that President Muhammadu Buhari’s resolve to develop the infrastructure for faster growth of the economy and by extension develop the whole country is not a fluke.”
The youthful legal practitioner cum activist also congratulated the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, the man in charge of the infrastructure development, on his success in making the scheme a reality, admitting that, with the price put on each unit is so reasonably affordable for average income earners.
According to her, 50, 000 housing units, with others still coming soon from the government would go a long way in bridging the deficit gap and bringing a lot of Nigerians from the street into decent accommodation, thanking God for blessing President Buhari with a workaholic performer in the person of a Senior Advocate, Babatunde Raji Fashola (BRF).
Recall that the federal government has officially launched an online platform for its National Housing Scheme (NHS), with effective preparation for the sale of the housing units in 34 out of 36 states of the federation. The Minister was reported to have said that, the new portal would facilitate homeownership and rental schemes in both urban and rural areas.

The NGO, therefore, urged the people of Nigeria to avail themselves of the opportunity the Federal Government extended to them to be adequately sheltered in decent apartments just as it also admonished the remaining states that have not provided the federal government with land for the laudable housing project, agreeing that, the scheme, is no doubt beneficial to the citizenry across the country.
In concluding, Barr. Success-Adekunle, described as praise-worthy, the Minister’s initiative of researching into the preferences of choice by various ethnic groups in the country with a view to providing them housing units suitable for their cultures and environment, pointing out that, “that singular initiative is a further confirmation that, the Buhari administration has made the people the centre of his government.”
