Newlywed bride, four others die in fatal accident

It was a sad situation, as a newlywed woman, and four others, reportedly died, 14 others injured, in a fatal motor accident that involved two vehicles, that collided at Akila village, along the Abeokuta- Ibadan Expressway, on Friday, at about 9.20pm.
A husband and wife were feared dead in the accident.

In a statement released by Ogun State Public Relations Officer of the Traffic Compliance Enforcement Corps in the State, Babatunde Akinbiyi, he said a truck with registration number, LAR 114YD, collided with a yellow bus, with registration number MUS 367 XV, in an attempt by the speeding driver to avoid potholes on the road.
According to him, 15 persons, comprising of 11 males and four females, were involved in the accident.

In his own reaction, the Ogun Sector Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Clement Oladele, said that a Mazda bus, lost control due to dangerous driving and collided with the truck with no registration number.

He added that the corpse of the of the victims have been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Ijaye, Abeokuta. While the injured are receiving treatment at the FMC, in Abeokuta.
