The new administration in Kano State has said it would resume and pursue the murder case against Hon. Alhassan Doguwa to a logical conclusion.
Abba Yusuf said on Monday that his government will arraign the immediate past Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Alhassan Doguwa, who was accused of killing three people, before a court of law.
Hon. Doguwa was alleged to have shot and killed three people during an election-related clash between his supporters and members of the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) in the Tudun Wada Local Government of the state.
The campaign office of the NNPP was also razed during the fracas.Earlier this month, the immediate past Attorney General, and Commissioner for Justice of the state, Musa Lawan, said the government was dropping the murder charge originally filed against Mr Doguwa by the police.
He said the government cannot substantiate the charges of criminal conspiracy, mischief by fire, and culpable homicide against lawmaker.
Mr Lawan stated this after the police submitted a report of its investigation of the incident to the Kano State government for review and possible prosecution of Mr Doguwa and 14 others.

Hon. Doguwa, a member of the immediate past ruling party in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC), had accused the police of bias, leading to a review of the investigation by the police authorities.
Hon. Doguwa was accused of the murder of three people believed to be the members of the opposition NNPP during the 25 February election in a violent confrontation between members of the NNPP and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
