New Kano Emir visits mother, ancestor’s tomb

The new Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, on Tuesday visited the grave of his late father, Ado Bayero, and other past Mornarchs who were buried at the Nasarawa royal house, located in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state.

The  News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the new Emir left his personal residence at Mandawari quarters of Kano Municipal Local Government Area at about 11 a.m as his first outing as the new Kano emir to pray for his late father and other ancesstors.

On his way to the Nasarawa house, Ado Bayero was cheered by thousands of supporters who throng the street of the city to have a glimpse of their new first class traditional ruler.

The new Emir in company of some District Heads and other traditional title holders converged at the Nasarawa residence where he offered special prayers for the souls of the late ancestors.

Ado Bayero and his entourage later proceeded to his mother’s residence at Gandun Albasa, a nearby community within the metropolis where he paid homage to her.

Meanwhile, a reliable source close to the new emir revealed that Ado-Bayero is expected to officially enter the Emir’s palace tommorow (Wednesday).

NAN also reports that the city had remained calm, while residents were seen going about their normal activities. (NAN)
