Nepal has increased the visa fee on foreign nationals visiting Nepal for various purposes effective from Wednesday.
In a notice, Nepal’s department of immigration has said that the tourist visa fee has been increased from five U.S. dollars to 25 U.S. dollars depending on duration of stay in Nepal.
For example, a tourist would have to pay 30 U.S. dollars from Wednesday for 15-day visa, a rise from 25 U.S. dollar until Tuesday.

For a 90 day visa, the fee has been increased to 125 U.S. dollar from 100 U.S. dollar, according to the notice.
The Nepali government officials say that this was the first time the visa fee was hiked as the fee in the past 10 years.
“We have increased the fee marginally. Despite rise in fee, it is one of the lowest in the world,’’ claimed Eshwor Poudel, director general of the department. (NAN)
