NEMA donates relief materials to Zamfara IDPs

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has donated relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Tsafe Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State.

Speaking after the distribution of the items in Tsafe on Thursday, NEMA’S acting Head of Operations, in Sokoto, Malam Abubukar Yusuf, said the items were provided by the Federal Government to support the victims.

Yusuf said the items comprised 250 bags of maize, 250 bags of guinea corn, 100 bags of detergent, 100 carton of toilet soap, 300 pieces of Nylon Mats and 300 pieces of spoons.

Others were 300 pieces of buckets, 600 sets of mosquito nets, 65 jerrycans of vegetable oil, 300 pieces of cups and 600 mattress.

He said additional items would be supplied by the agency.

Responding, the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Malam Sanusi Kwatarkwashi thanked NEMA for the gesture.

He commended the agency for its prompt assistance to disasters victims in the state. (NAN)
