The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano State chapter, has arrested 23 suspected cocaine pushers within the last one month.
NDLEA Commander in the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdul, disclosed this to journalists, in Kano, on Tuesday.
He noted that 20 out of the suspects, who were arrested in Sabon Gari are not Kano indigenes, but from the southern part of the country.
This is just as the command said 86 other suspects were arrested by the command within the last one month, with different types of illicit drugs weighing 1.4 tons.
The command, he said is making all necessary arrangements to arraign all the suspects in court, adding that the arrest of the suspected cocaine pushers was part of the command’s efforts in ending drug abuse in the state.

Abdul noted that one Ikenna Daniel was arrested with over eight cartons of fake Augmenting weighing 115 kilograms and Artemisin of about 136 kilograms.
He further disclosed that the command confiscated 1,042.516 kilograms or over one ton of illicit drugs, in addition to 17.1 grams of cocaine, 761.5 kilograms of cannabis, 20 grams of heroin, 182.3 kilograms of tramadol, 75.2 kilograms of codeine and 12.5kilograms of D5.
