The Board of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has approved the appointment of Malam Mujtaba Sada, the Director, Broadcast Policy and Research, as the Acting Secretary to the Commission.
The appointment, the NBC board said, takes effect from April 15.
The Assistant Director, Public Affairs of NBC, Mr. Antia Ekanem, confirmed the appointment in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), on Friday in Abuja.
Ekanem explained that the board approved the appointment following the retirement of Ms. Alheri Saidu, the former Acting Secretary and Legal Adviser of NBC.
He said that Malam Sada was born on in December 11, 1959, in Katsina State and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Combined Degree) in Mass Communication and Political Science from Bayero University, Kano in 1982 and Masters of Arts, Mass Communication from University of Leicester, United Kingdom in 1987.

He said that Sada was employed into the services of the commission as a Chief Research and Monitoring Officer on salary grade level in June 14,1994 and assumed duty in November 1,1994.
Ekanem further said that Sada was, after exceptional contribution to Monitoring activities in Lagos Zone, posted to Maiduguri Zonal Office on in August 17 1999, as the Zonal Director.
” After being promoted to the post of Assistant Director on May 1, 2000, he was redeployed to the headquarters as Assistant Director, Policy and Standards, where he rose to the position of Deputy Director, Policy and Standards on the 1st of January, 2005.
”Sada was promoted to the rank of Director, Broadcast Policy and Research from January 14, 2014.
”He has been serving as the Director, Broadcast Policy and Research since then until the Board’s appointment, ” he said. (NAN)
