NASFAT describes late Kola Animashaun as an accomplished journalist

The leadership of Nasrul-lahi-li Fathi Society of Nigeria (NASFAT) has described late veteran journalist,  Alhaji Kola Animasaun, as man who lived journalism, breathed journalism and died as an accomplished journalist.

The New Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Animashaun who was the former Chairman, Editorial Board of Vanguard Media Limited, died at the age of 80.

The Publicity Secretary, NASFAT, Mr. Banji Busari, in a statement on Friday said late Animashaun had carved a niche for himself as one of the few thorough-bred journalists of his generation.

According to him, his column in the Vanguard, ‘Voice of Reason’, enjoyed vast readership in view of the lucid and simple manner of his writing.

“As a leading light in journalism in this country, late Kola Animashaun demonstrated a rare sense of patriotism in providing intervention towards a moral and socio-economic stability in the polity.

“The deceased could appropriately be described as a mentor of mentors as his creative and administrative influence loomed very large among the upcoming journalists and established editors during his active career.

“In the industry today, arguably not a few of the editors have passed through his mentorship directly or indirectly.

“His death is apparently a big loss to the journalism profession and the nation at large.’’

NASFAT prays Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannah firdaos and grant his immediate family, the Nigeria Union of Journalists, the Guild of Editors and all stakeholders in the journalism profession the strength to bear the irreparable loss. (NAN)
