NAF airstrikes neutralise ISWAP commander, 50 other terrorists

 

 

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has said its operatives have killed about 50 terrorists, including a high-ranking ISWAP commander, identified as Bashir Dauda.

NAF announced in a statement on Tuesday that it carried out successful air interdictions on three major enclaves of Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, terrorists in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State on October 32, 2024.

According to Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, the NAF spokesma, the the strikes zeroed in on known ISWAP strongholds in the villages of Tumbun Daribiyar, Jubularam, Buluwa, and Tumbu Karfe.

An on-ground assessment of the attack confirmed the the death of about 50 terrorists, including the ISWAP commander.

Akinboyewa further said: “Additionally, an ISWAP supply depot in the Jubularam enclave, filled with a substantial cache of food and essential items like beans, millet, and rice, was destroyed, effectively severing a critical resource line for the terrorists.
