Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, has cleared the air over her reported quizzing by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in Abuja, on Thursday.
An aide to the top civil servant, but who craved anonymity, said that Mrs. Oyo-Ita was only verbally invited the chairman of the EFCC, Mallam Ibrahim Magu, a request which she honourably obliged.
The EFCC had quizzed Mrs. Oyo-Ita over alleged N3 billion contract scam. She was reported to have been interrogated for alleged abuse of duty tour allowance, money laundering and stealing of government funds.

She was reportedly grilled for four days during which she was in custody of the anti-graft agency beginning from Thursday, August 8.
But the aide told The Nigerian Xpress that Mrs. Oyo-Ita denied all allegations on fraudulent conduct leveled against her before the anti-graft agency.
The aide also said that Mrs. Oyo-Ita was never detained by the EFCC, but had been on leave officially to attend to her health condition.
The aide also said his principal frowned at the skewed media report on the matter, while calling a more balanced reportage from newshounds.
