Chief Executive Officer of Monimichelle, the nation’s leading stadium facilities construction outfit, Ebi Egbe, has raised alarm over the desperate move of some disgruntled elements out to blackmail new Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.
Recall that a faceless group had, in a petition to President Muhammadu Buhari, alleged that Mr. Ogbuku had several criminal cases to answer, even as they claimed he was once arrested for murder.
The same group was said to have started sponsoring media campaign against the new NDDC boss who had before now served Bayelsa State meritoriously in various capacities.

But Mr. Egbe, in a statement, dismissed the claims as ‘sheer blackmail’ all the issues being raised against Dr. Ogbuku.
According to Egbe, “I find it absurd to see some group of people trying to paint Dr. Ogbuku in bad light. This is a man that has served Bayelsa State very well.
“This is a man that is passionate about the development of our dear state and the entire Niger Delta region.

“Dr. Ogbuku has not been convicted by any court anywhere in the world. I wonder why some people are out to blackmail him simply because he has been given a job to do by the Federal Government. Dr Ogbuku is a man I am confident would deliver in his new position.
“He is a man that shares the same vision with my outfit, Monimichelle, to see Bayelsa state develop. Monimichelle would ordinarily have been operating outside Bayelsa State but we have our corporate headquarters in Yenagoa. That is the way to go. My appeal is that blackmailers should do a rethink and allow the state breath. Credible Bayelsans like Dr. Ogbuku was not be stopped by enemies of the state.”
It would be noted that the Federal Government recently re-constituted the NDDC board naming Dr. Ogbuku as its new helmsman.
