A Pro-Tinubu campaign support group, National Independent Campaign Organisation for Tinubu (NICOT), has warned all those it called ‘anti-democratic’ elements in the country and in the Diaspora to bury the idea of an Interim Government in Nigeria (ING), reminding that election had taken place and a winner had emerged.
Chief Campaigner and Convener of the organization, Comrade Razaq Olokoba, in a statement, in Lagos, last Monday, insisted that, “against that background, inauguration of the President-elect, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu to become the substantive President and Commander of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on May 29, 2023, is intact and irreversible.”

According to the statement, the group with over 70 various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) across the country and beyond would not stand akimbo and watch some disgruntled anti-democratic forces in the country to scuttle the hard earned democracy that has passed an embryonic stage towards adulthood, vowing that, “all the available democratic and constitutional means would be deployed to safeguard it.”
Olokoba, who is also the Convener and National President of Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), expressed dismay that, “at this point in time, after an election has been held and winners have emerged, a group of misguided individuals and groups could be nursing a retrogressive idea of any contraption to drag the country back to the dark age of the military,” believing that, “no well-meaning Nigerian, home or abroad would welcome any other thing on May 29, this year apart from the inauguration of the winner of the February 25 presidential poll.”
The strongly worded statement reminded the aggrieved losers of the windows of redress made available for them to utilise should they believe that their mandates have been stolen, expressing solid confidence in the Judiciary on its capability to right the wrong as the last hope of the oppressed with the calibre of the seasoned legal juggernauts the country’s Judiciary parades.
To drive home his organization’s preparedness to ensure that nothing tampers with the May 29 inauguration plan, the youthful activist and public commentator disclosed that, plans are afoot to organize a one million man-match in Abuja and Lagos in support of Tinubu’s inauguration, stating that, “the walk will be peaceful as expected of a civilised group of world standard, to caution whoever wants to truncate the country’s democracy to beware.”
Recall that insinuations are everywhere in the recent time that, some people and groups are calling for an interim government rather than the inauguration of the winner of the presidential poll of February 25, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for no just reason. But the outgoing President, Muhammadu Buhari has assured the whole world that, come May 29, 2023, he will hand over power to Tinubu, the winner of the election.
