Dr Nkem Okeke, Anambra State Deputy Governor, has appealed to residents of the state to come out en-masse to vote during the March 9 House of Assembly election.
Okeke made the call in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Awka.
He said that electees should not have fear of any attack, as security operatives had been detailed to protect lives and property.
“We are sure of a peaceful electoral environment because Anambra State remains the safest state in Nigeria; we are peaceful,” he said.

Okeke said that there was the need for voters across the 336 wards in the state to vote massively for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to ensure continuity in governance.
The deputy governor said that victory for APGA in the House of Assembly election in the state was important for continuity in the distribution of democracy dividends.
He appealed to politicians, traders, community leaders, public and civil servants in the state to vote and mobilise support for APGA to ensure victory for its candidates.
NAN reports that governorship election will not take place in Anambra, Edo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti states on Saturday. This is because the governors of the states have yet to complete their tenure. (NAN)
