Man lands in police net for robbing, killing friend in Adamawa

The police in Adamawa State have nabbed a man for stabbing his friend to death and snatching his motorcycle.

 

The suspect, 25-year-old Yahaya Balarabe, who resides at Dage Village, Ganye Local Government Area of the state, also reportedly stole the victim’s N20,000.

 

It was gathered that he attacked and killed his friend with a sharp cutlass, and threw his body into a gutter.

 

SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the spokesperson of the Adamawa State Police Command, said the suspect was arrested, following a report from the deceased’s family members and the recovery of material evidence linked to him.

 

The suspect has confessed to the crime, saying he was motivated by his interest in taking possession of the deceased’s motorcycle and money.

 

Dankombo Morris, the Commissioner of Police, lauded the operatives for detecting and arresting the suspect, and ensuring that he is brought to justice.

 

He directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID to take over the investigation and advised residents of the state to help tackle criminal activities in the state by reporting suspicious individuals to the police.
