Man electrocuted while picking Mango in Nsukka

A Facebook user with the name Alfonso Paca reports that it was all tears in Nsukka, Enugu State, as a young wheelbarrow pusher got electrocuted in the early hours of Wednesday when he reached for a mango with a metal fruit picker and made contact with a high tension wire.

According to Alfonso, the unlucky boy immediately fell from the tree as soon as he got electrocuted.

 However, he was pronounced dead on the scene opposite Zenith bank in Enugu road and was taken to Bishop Shanahan mortuary.

“We saw his lifeless body dangling on the tree,” said Mr. Johnson, a trader in Ogige main market, Nsukka. The sad incident is a lesson to everybody.

“It is unfortunate that the young man died in that manner. He just lost his life out of sheer carelessness,” he added.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s name, origin and age are yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
