A 20-year-old man, Omoniyi Akinawo, who allegedly stole two Plasma television sets and a Samsung mobile phone, on Monday, appeared before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Akinola, whose address was not stated, is facing a two-count charge of stealing and break- in.
The Police Prosecutor, ASP Akpan Ikem, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Dec. 17, at Idilogun Street, Ilogbo area of Lagos State.
Ikem said that the accused broke into the house of the complainant and stole two Plasma television sets and one Samsung mobile phone valued N350,000.
The prosecutor told the court that the accused unlawfully burgled into the house of Amanzere with the intent to steal.
He said that the offence contravened Sections 287 and 303 Subsection 2 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Patrick Adekomaya, admitted the accused to bail of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adekomaya adjourned the case until January 29, for further hearing. (NAN)
