Lucky escape as Zamfara police rescue kidnap victim, starved for weeks

The Zamfara State Police Command has successfully rescued a lucky kidnap victim, Mudassiru Malan.

The bandits reportedly denied the victim food for six weeks because of the failure of his family to raise the ransom they demanded.
The state spokesman, SP Mohammed Shehu, disclosed that Malan was rescued, following a raid on hideouts of bandits in the state, in addition to extensive search and rescue operations by the police in collaboration with other security operatives.

“On October 2, 2021, the police tactical operatives in conjunction with the vigilantes deployed along the Maradun Kaura Namoda axis succeeded in the rescue of one Mudassiru Malan of Sabon Garin Rini village in the Bakura LGA,” Shehu said.

“The victim, who was abducted six weeks ago, was rescued safely by the police without any injury sustained by either the victim or the security forces.

“The Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkana, has since handed over the rescued victim to the Bakura Local Government Area Sole Administrator.

“CP Elkana assures the people of the state that the police and other security agencies will sustain the ongoing onslaught against the activities of recalcitrant bandits and other criminal elements in the state.”
