Lagos Traffic Radio introduces mobile APP to enhance provision of traffic reports

In order to boost traffic reportage in Nigeria and Africa as a whole, Nigeri’s foremost traffic radio station, Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1fm, has introduced it’s first mobile application.

The mobile application will enhance the provision of traffic reports. It is tagged Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1FM APP.
The initiative would help the station provide “an additional platform to our teeming listeners by connecting more with them just as it will strengthen the existing relationship with the station.”

In a statement signed by the General Manager, Lagos Traffic Road, Mr. Tayo Akanle, ” the mobile App will complement the Station’s drive in providing timely, accurate traffic information and travel advisory to commuters within the Lagos metropolis and beyond.

He urged Lagosians to make use of the application and leverage on it “as the world is now being driven by information technology.”

“The idea is borne out of the need to reach out to a larger audience through a timely notification and in-app pop-ups as such push notifications will assist users navigate their way while ensuring prompt arrival at the destination point,” Akanle said.

He added the initiative” is in line with the Traffic Management and Transportation component of the T.H.E.M.E Agenda of Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration” and is not only “aimed at providing traffic information to our listeners continually but also create more awareness about the station within and outside the State.”

The App can be downloaded from play Store for Android and Apple Store for Apple devices and has features such as play and stop, live traffic updates, social media pages, eye witness, news and others.

It is recalled the radio station recently embarked on improving its brand. It recently launched motorbikes to move round the state to provide on-the-spot and updates on traffic situation in the state.
