Egbeyemi said that the operation which resulted in the arrests was based on the directive of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu.

He also stated that residents around Ogudu and Ajah, had earlier complained of attacks orchestrated by miscreants and cult gangs especially in the early hours of the day and late at night.

“During the enforcement exercise, a large number of miscreants/cultists launched a serious attack on the officers with broken bottles, stones, axe and other dangerous weapons from different spots including uncompleted buildings,” he said.

Stating that the Lagos police boss had ordered the suspects be prosecuted, Egbeyemi said: “We are warning owners of structures harbouring criminal elements to immediately flush them out as government would not hesitate to demolish any building occupied by miscreants and cultists across the state.”

In another development, the operatives of the Agency have impounded 78 motorcycles, for flouting government’s directive on the ban on commercial motorcycle across the state.

Egbeyemi said the motorcycles were involved in illegal activities that could jeopardise government’s effort to curb the spread of Coronavirus pandemic, around Onipanu, Adekunle and Igbo-Efon by Jakande area of Lekki.
