Lagos PDP chair assures of  participation, winning council elections, seeks credible polls

Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Lagos State, Engr. Adedeji Doherty, has confirmed the readiness of the party to not only participate in the forthcoming local government elections, but also to win chairmanship and councilorship positions.
The chairman, who stated that, machinery were in place to ensure success, implored all interested aspirants to immediately commence house to house mobilisation in their wards, Local Council Development Areas and Local Government areas.
He also advised all party faithful to work together in unity to ensure the desired success in the forthcoming council elections.
Engr. Doherty however, called on the Justice Phillips (rtd) led Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), to come out with the necessary timetable for the elections in good time.
He stated that people have lost confidence in LASIEC because of huge allegations of erroneous vote allocations to All Progressives Congress candidates in the past.
He advised LASIEC to restore credibility of the electoral process by ensuring that the wish of the people is respected during the coming elections.
He further advised that LASIEC could gain back the confidence of the general public with the proper handling of the forthcoming council elections, most importantly strict adherence to the principle of one man one vote.
Engr. Doherty also called on Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to ensure that the elections are free, fair and credible in all ramifications.
