Lagos APC inaugurates new exco

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has inaugurated new state executive council members to pilot the affairs of the party.

The new executives were charged to eschew caucuses interest to up the party’s political gains.

Prince Tajudeen Olusi, a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), presented Certificates to all the 37 state officers.

In a goodwill message a foremost leader and a former deputy governor of Lagos State, Mr. Abiodun Ogunleye, counseled the newly-inaugurated executives to treat issues and not personalities.

Otunba Henry Ajomale, a former Lagos APC chairman, also admonished the new chairman, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, to ensure a seminar is organized to further enhance the exco members understanding of the duties and roles attached with their new offices.

In his address, Mr. Ojelabi, who had earlier been inaugurated by the National body, said the state excos would elevate fairness and equity in running the affairs of the party.

Ojelabi said that the Lagos APC was in dire need of all genuine compatriots to build better party for all.

He said, “This is the rescue team that is going to bring life into our dear party.

“All of us have responsibility to make it work, we will do all within our powers to develop our party.

“We are all involved in strengthening the party to enviable position.

“All of us have the responsibility to make APC a truly progressive party where oppression and partiality will no longer be the order of the day.

“We shall henceforth give priority to justice and equity so that everyone’s goals and aspirations can be fulfilled in relative peace. There will be no room for injustice.”

Ojelabi assured that the excos would put collective interest above personal interest and give every member his or her dues.

The chairman said that the executive would regard every member of the party as one, respect and care for them.

Ojelabi added: “We must try as much as possible to bring back the glory. We must try as much as possible to reconcile and deepen our democracy.

“This team is saddled with the responsibility of rescuing the party back on track. It means everyone must work together to retake our lost glory.

“As you are taking the oath of office today, I want to charge you to go to your various constituencies and commence a process of harmony and  genuine reconciliation.

“Whatever be the sort of caucus or caucuses we belong to, today as we taking oath of office, we are taking the oath to serve the people of Lagos State, all members of APC irrespective of your caucuses.

The former national Legal Adviser of APC, Mr Babatunde Ogala administered oath of office to the new state officers.

Some other prominent chieftains of the party at the epoch making event includes: Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon(GOS), Hon. Dayo Bushira Alebiosu,Otunba Murphy Adetoro, Hon. Wale Raji (MHR) and others.

The swearing-in event was well attended by many party faithful,who came in their numbers to felicitate with the new party officials as many still held party’s to commemorate their new status at their various localities.

In all a total of 38 excos were inaugurated at the party secretariat at Acme, Ogba Lagos.
