As the November, 2021 ultimatum given to trespassers in the vicinity of the Berger-Kara Bridge along Ibadan-Lagos expressway by the Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) expiring in the next five weeks, a human right and pro-democracy group, the Black Youth Vanguard (BYV), has admonished them of the imperative of strict compliance.

Recall that about two months earlier, the minister gave three months ultimatum to mechanics, artisans and others conducting their trades under, around and in the vicinity of the bridge a quit notice because of the damages they are causing the infrastructure.

While cautioning against any act of sabotage on the project, Adeyemi vowed to resist any conduct aimed at putting the efforts of the Federal Government towards infrastructure development into jeopardy, wondering whether mechanics and other artisans in civilized countries could be allowed to turn such a bridge area into their workshops and thus constitute threats to security and the economy of the nation!

The long grace grace given to them, the youthful activist also advised those involved not to take the magnanimity of the honourable Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola for granted by exceeding the November new date given them, admonishing that, that long period of grace must not be abused because the normal ultimatum ought to have been just a week.

The organization boss therefore praised Fashola for his dogged commitment to the Buhari’s administration’s undying love for infrastructure development to put the country on the line of other developed countries, expressing the delights that, “the administration’s efforts are glaringly yielding positive results in all sectors of the economy.”
