The Kano State Fire Service on Monday said it received 90 distress calls from different parts of the state within the last two weeks.
The State’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the service, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano.
Mohammed noted that the calls emanated from road accidents and fire disasters.

Giving the breakdown, the PRO said 45 calls were received on fire incidents, 40 calls for rescue, while five were false alarms.
Mohammed therefore, advised the public to always be conscious and cautious in the use of electrical appliances.
He also charged citizens to avoid storing petrol and other inflammable substances in shops and homes. (NAN)
