JUST IN: Shots fired as prison inmates confront Warders in Kaduna over COVID-19

There is currently pandemonium at the Kaduna Central Correctional Centre, with shots, reportedly fired as inmates engage Warders in fierce fracas.

The inmates are threatening a jail break from the centre should the authorities not move to protect them from being infected by the dreaded Coronavirus.

The inmates are reportedly currently protesting their continued incarceration under the present condition without taking into consideration of a possible infection by the virus.

The inmates, said to have engaged prison officials, reportedly insisted that they must be released to avoid being infected by the deadly virus.

Security personnel, including prison wardens, were battling the inmates st st time of filing this report.

Reports say shots were also fired in the ensuing melee.
