Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity Office of the Vice President, Mr. Laolu Akande, had denied his principal being involved in an auto crash on Monday morning, as is trending on social media at the moment.

In a tweet, Mr. Akande wrote that, “On his way to the airport this morning, VP came across a road traffic accident, stopped to lend assistance, & ensured victim was taken to the hospital with VP’s convoy ambulance. “He then proceeded on his trip and is now in Ondo State heading to site of yesterday’s attack in Owo.”
In another tweet, Mr. Akande released photographs of the scene of the accident where the Vice President’s medical and security teams intervened and removed the lone victim from the crushed car which somersaulted on the opposite side of the road and got stuck on a tree.
He said that the victim had been moved to an undisclosed hospital.
