JUST IN: Osinbajo, Ali Ndume in closed doors meeting

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is currently meeting, behind closed doors, with a former Senate Leader, Sen. Ali Ndume.

The meeting started a few minutes past 1:00p.m. at the Vice President’s office.

The purpose of the meeting was not known as at press time.

Recall Ndume contested last June’s Senate Presidency against Ahmed Lawan,  a Yobe State senator, who was backed by the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the 9th Assembly.

Ndume resisted all pressures to step down, insisting he would contest the plum seat.

He later went into the election but eventually lost to Ahmed Lawan, polling 28 votes against the latter’s 79 votes.
