Contrary to earlier report that former Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and his wife, Nkechi, were detained and arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), The Nigerian Xpress, findings revealed that the former governor and his wife were currently indoors in their mansion in Owerri, the state capital.
In a confirmation of our finding also, spokesman of the EFCC, Tony Oriade, in an exclusive chat with a national newspaper had said the report was “fake news”.

The earlier report also claimed that operatives of the Commission also sealed his Eastern Palm University, at Ogboko.
A reliable source in Owerri confirmed to Nigerian Xpress that the former governor and his family were indoors as at time of filing this report.
