A Federal High Court, sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Friday, November 25, nullified the candidature of the African Democratic Party (ADC), Governorship flag bearer in Ogun State, Biyi Otegbeye, as well as the party’s State Assembly candidates for the 2023 general election.
The court ruled that the primary election that produced Otegbeye and the state assembly candidates on the ADC platform was not monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The court affirmed that the primary election was held in violation of the Electoral Act, while noting that the candidature of Biyi Otegbeye and the ADC state assembly candidates is against the provisions of Electoral Act.
The court ruled that Otegbeye and the assembly candidates are not the valid candidates of ADC for the 2023 governorship and state assembly elections.
