Having listened to the presentation of the team, the Comptroller said JIFORM’s advocacy against irregular migration couldn’t have come at a better time given development across the world, admitting that, there was need for deliberate policy to discourage people from putting their lives at risk through unapproved routes.
“Thousands of people have died trying to travel abroad through the desert and the Mediterranean Sea. That was regrettable and should be stopped. I would have wished to be at your conference but I wish you luck in this great endeavour that is worth supporting,” he said.
Ajibola assured that JIFORM was willing to work with various agencies of government to guard against both human and drug trafficking.
