Island Club commend Sanwo-Olu over developmental projects, seek gov’s support

The newly elected executive of the Lagos Island Club, on Wednesday commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his giant stride in infrastructural development in the state through the THEMES + agenda.

The members also sought the support of the governor in restoring the ‘fading glory of the club.

While speaking during a courtesy call to the governor at the Lagos House, Ikeja, the new Chairman of the club, Rotimi Martins said the management appreciates the work the governor and his team are doing in the state.

“We appreciate the remarkable work you and your team are doing in Lagos State. Your THEMES + agenda is transforming Lagos fostering development and creating a brighter future for us. Together we can build the Lagos we are all proud of,” Rotimi said.

He noted that since the new executive was elected, it has begun moves to address infrastructural challenges facing the club, one of which was the launching of an infrastructure renewal fund.

“We seek your support to help return the fading glory of our club. Your contribution will continue to make the club great. Since we assumed office, we have been guided by vision and aspirations. We are fully prepared to serve with diligence. Our commitment to revitalize the club has been unwavering and we have taken several steps to address and enhance the club’s operation.”

In his response, Governor Sanwo-Olu who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde, said Island Club is an important and reputable club in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole which he holds in high esteem.

He promised to support the club in repositioning it and return it’s past glory

“We will not leave you alone as far as your projects are concerned,” he promised.
