Insecurity: Stop living in denial, Northern Christians tell Buhari

The northern Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has told President Muhammadu Buhari to stop behaving as if he was not aware of the high level of insecurity in the country and tasked him to carry out his constitutional responsibility of protecting Nigerians.

According to the Secretary-General of the 19 Northern states under CAN, Sunday Oibe, who spoke, in Abuja, Nigeria is under siege by terrorists, adding the country needs a  proactive steps from the President to prevent it from collapsing.

He lamented that both social and economic activities  have been crippled due to the activities of the terrorists, citing  states like Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara, Niger, Benue, Plateau, Taraba, Kebbi, Sokoto and even Abuja, as the most affected.

“Northern CAN, hereby, calls on President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Assembly to stop living in denial,” he said.

” We call on President Buhari to rise to the occasion, by living up to his constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property of citizens and defending the sovereignty of Nigeria,” he further urged.
