Newly appointed chairman of Imo State Sports Commission, Fan Ndubuoke, has assured that there would be positive developments in Imo sports, as he settles down to work.
Ndubuoke, who spoke after his inauguration, said the good thing is that the state has in Emeka Ihedioha a sports-loving governor, who wants to use sports to drive his agenda of rebuilding the state.
“We thank God we have a governor that loves sports. He has assembled a team that can help him achieve his vision of rebuilding our state. The governor has assembled technocrats and private sector people who can drive his vision.”

Ndubuoke stressed that his focus would be to make Imo sports attractive to the private sector and other relevant stakeholders as government alone can not fund sports.
“We have to look for funds and the way to do this would be by getting the private sector to buy into our programs. We are also going to pay attention to the grassroots and identity talents who we would nurture to become national and international stars. We would also look at Imo’s area of strength when it comes to sports and ensure we consolidate on them. On the whole there would be positive developments in Imo sports moving forward.”
The newly established Imo Sports Commission has Ndubuoke as chairman. Other members of the commission are Kanu Nwankwo who is the Governor’s SA on sports, Charity Opara, Nne Aneke, Emeka Chris Okeke and Barrister Aniche Adachi Sandra
