Imo Muslim leader disturbed over high insecurity in Nigeria

A Muslim leader and Chairman of Muslim Council Imo State, Mallam Bashiru Uwakwe, has expressed worries over what he described as ‘high level of insecurity’ in the country.

Mallam Uwakwe, in his Sallah message during the Eid-El-Kabir celebration, held in Owerri, the Imo State Capital, told newsmen that the ugly situation has left many innocent Nigerians consumed, while the economy of the country remains completely destroyed.

He stressed need for Nigerians to remain steadfast and diligent in their fear of Almighty Allah and respect to God and humanity.

He said, “The present continuous killings in the country as we continue to experience is very touchy”.

The Muslim leader also urged Nigerians to use the period of Muslim celebration to pray fervently to Almighty God for quick intervention to save the country

He also advised the people of the country to continue to live in peace and harmony irrespective of their tribes.

Mallam Uwakwe also appealed to Nigerians to learn how to respect constituted authority especially both state and Federal government authority by following her activities to be able to know what government is really doing.

He urged Nigerians to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari and State Governors for Almighty Allah to give them sense of direction and wisdom to govern the people well.

The Muslim cleric also used the forum to commend Governor Hope Uzodimma for carrying along citizens of the state in his policies especially the Muslim community in the state.

He said that the Governor has continued to demonstrate serious support to the Muslim community in Imo State especially in the areas of donating palliative materials to the Muslim community in the state

On the issues bordering on pension in the state, the Muslim leader thanked the Governor for paying the pensioners and urged those in the pension board to carry out more investigations to ensure that the remaining pensioners are paid.
